Noor Pahlavi is an American model, socialite and real estate businesswoman. She was born on April 3, 1992. She is the oldest child of Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince of Iran before the Iranian Revolution 1979 and Yasmine Etemad Amini. She was born in exile when her family was fled out of Iran due to Islamic Revolution. She was also the first member of the family who was born outside Iran.
Early life and Family:
Pahlavi was born in Washington, D.C., although her first cousin, Patrick Ali Pahlavi, was born in Paris in 1947, yet she is the first family member who was born outside of Iran. Reza Shah Pahlavi was the last ruler of the Imperial State of Iran when he was overthrown by the Islamic Revolution of 1979 led by Ayatollah Khomeini. He is the current head of the House of Pahlavi. Her parental grandparents, Muhammad Reza Pahlavi and Farah Diba were the last Emperor and Empress of Iran before the revolution
She has two siblings; both are her younger sisters: Iman and Farah. Being born outside Iran and after the overthrow of their royal seat, Noor and her two sisters experienced a different upbringing compared to her father’s in Iran. They were also without the perks enjoyed by their family while they were the head of the seat of Imperial Iran.
Pahlavi went to The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland and graduated in 2010. Afterwards, she attended Georgetown University and graduated in 2014 with a degree of arts in psychology. She is now an MBA student at Columbia University. Along with that, she is an advisor to the non-profit impact investment fund Acumen.
As it has already been said that she is a model along with being a businesswoman. She works as the investor relations and fundraising for a commercial real estate firm. She has also been modelling for a clothing brand MISA and has appeared in Harper’s Bazaar. In June 2017, she was on the cover of the Marie Claire Indonesia.
A taste for the finer things. These credentials aside, she tastes for the finer things and is a regular among New York’s well-heeled society. She likes travelling across the world, enjoying holidays at St Bart’s and marketing her attendance at hip New York exhibition launches at venues like The Frick and Sotheby’s.
She has also earned fame and praise for her informed way and “downtown” style of dressing. Due to this, she was the cover girl for many magazines such as Cosmopolitan Indonesia and Harper’ Bazaar Arabia. Her mother and grandmother are behind her graced sense of fashion. She thanks her grandmother by saying, “She has introduced me to some of the major designers today, many of whom are her friends, but she also inspired me to support up-and-coming designers.”
An Iranian at Heart:
Although she was born in Washington, she is an Iranian by heart and keeps her Persian heritage and traits close to her heart. She engages in the discourse on Medium.com, where she tackles political and social issues in Persian and English. She is caught between two different worlds because many Iranians see her as a member of the Imperial family. She once said about this in 2017 and reported in Tehran Magazine, “All I can do is cherish the Iranian values I have, take them with me and appreciate the freedom I have in America to be all the things I want to be.”
She is active on her social media handle, Instagram and shares her private life, University memories and places where she goes. She had over 334000 followers on Instagram as of March 2021.
